The General Election in June is a chance for voters in Kenilworth & Southam to prevent a hard Brexit

People in Kenilworth & Southam should vote for the Liberal Democrats to prevent a hard Brexit and to keep investment in vital education, health and social care services, the party's local Parliamentary spokesperson has said.

Having spent the past eight months repeatedly saying there would not be a General Election before 2020, the Prime Minister Theresa May has this week called a snap General Election to be held on 8th June, just five weeks after residents have voted in important local Council elections on 4th May.

Kenilworth-resident Richard Dickson, who is the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary spokesperson in Kenilworth & Southam, commented:

"This election is a huge opportunity for voters in Kenilworth & Southam to change the direction of our country and prevent a disastrous hard Brexit.

"In 2016 I saw first-hand how people in Kenilworth & Southam voted clearly to remain in the EU, and certainly they did not vote for the mayhem that the extreme form of Brexit which Mrs May, supported by Kenilworth's MP, has imposed on us, and which has also been backed by Labour.

"For all those people who want to protect our local economy by staying in the Single Market, and to stand up for investment in our education and health and care services, this is your chance.

"The Liberal Democrats are the real opposition to the right-wing Conservative Brexit Government and the only party fighting for a Britain that is open, tolerant and united."
