Will our MP vote to keep Britain in the single Market?

Dear Mr Wright,

An Open Letter

The terms and destination of the UK's departure from the EU are still far from clear and you have had an important role in this process. As Attorney General, you have been arguing through the courts that the government, and not elected Parliamentarians, should decide on when to exercise Article 50, which will trigger the two year process which will determine the destination for the UK's departure from the EU. Three High Court Judges have already ruled in favour of Parliament on this matter.

As our MP, my question to you is, if the Supreme Court rules that it is Parliament who must decide when to exercise Article 50, what factors will decide how you will vote?

60% of voters in Warwick District, where the largest number of your Kenilworth and Southam constituents live, voted positively this year to stay in the EU. Academic studies have shown that for the constituency as a whole, which includes some voters who live in Stratford District and Rugby Borough, there was a clear majority of electors in Kenilworth and Southam who followed your public recommendation and voted to stay. On 23rd June your constituents provided a beacon of light in the Midlands in favour of the EU.

I hope that you will not just follow the Conservative Party line on Article 50 and ignore the very clear views of tens of thousands of your constituents. As you may be aware, local LibDems in Kenilworth and Southam have launched an online petition calling on the government to ensure that Britain stays in the Single Market. In the event of there being a vote in Parliament on exercising Article 50, there is a better way for the MP of Kenilworth and Southam to choose by voting to put your constituents' wishes first.
