Kenilworth Local Action Plan – Be Careful What You Say ‘Yes’ To!

January 21, 2013 11:56 AM

Kenilworth CastleLiberal Democrats in Kenilworth are urging local residents to be cautious how they answer the Local Action Plan questionnaire launched by the Town Council on 15th January, and to read all the accompanying documentation carefully before they do.

Richard Dickson, local party chair, says: "As Liberal Democrats we are all for more involvement of local residents in decision-making, but we have reservations about this questionnaire-based approach.

"The majority Conservative group on the Town Council has set out its ideas for the town's future in the document with the strange title of 'Kenilworth Action Plan Notes - 2nd Draft' which is available elsewhere on the Town Council website. As Liberal Democrats we agree with some of these ideas, but are strongly opposed to others. It is frequently hard to correlate the questionnaire with the accompanying 'draft' document, and thus to express a clear response to the ideas put forward.

"The consultation runs until the 18th February, so there is plenty of time to think carefully before responding."
