Kenilworth Liberal Democrats councillors Pat Ryan and Ann Blacklock are 100% behind the new neighbourhood policing team based at Kenilworth police station and working with the local community via the new Safer Neighbourhoods panel.

For 2007, the agreed top priority is anti-social behaviour, which blights the lives of many law-abiding residents. Liberal Democrats believe in a policy of "zero tolerance" in Kenilworth. We will not tolerate vandalism, graffiti and criminal damage, nor rowdy and abusive behaviour in public.

New tough action is already getting results, with a number of arrests in recent weeks and prosecutions pending. No one wants to stop young people in particular having a good time, but not at the expense of others. The police have a difficult job to do, and we should support them not criticise them.

Liberal Democrats stand four-square behind the police in taking vigorous action to clean up our streets.
