Nigel Rock taking the lead
Communities in our area are suddenly faced with large developments that have the potential to drastically change things for residents.
Proposals for additional major housing schemes in the countryside around Cubbington, Baginton, Kenilworth and Burton Green would bring few benefits and a host of problems. The high speed rail route brings no benefits locally and unprecedented threats of blight to many communities.
There is a short time for residents to make their voices heard - the housing developments consultation by Warwick District Council is to close on 9th April.
Despite the very long term nature of plans for the railway, the first date is upon us - the Hardship Compensation Scheme consultation closes on the 20 May - and we are already in some unspecified pre-consultation phase for ' stakeholders'.
Local Liberal Democrats have already played to their strengths in communities by arranging public meetings on housing.
Nigel Rock, the Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate for Kenilworth & Southam, plans to coordinate the High Speed Rail campaign across our new constituency. Please contact him to do all we can for mutual support across our towns and villages.
