Nigel Rock at the entrance to Cemex site which is so large it overlaps Stockton, Southam and Long Itchington boundaries.
Local Lib Dem councillor and PPC Nigel Rock has attacked new proposals by Cemex to extend quarrying at Stockton. These are contained in a consultation document about minerals strategy published by Warwickshire County Council.
He has published a special issue of the local Focus newsletter, to make residents aware of yet more proposals to extend quarrying closer to houses. (Follow link below or see Download section of this website for a PDF version of the newsletter.)
The consultation was originally due to close on 3rd April, but this has now been extended to 8TH MAY.
Nigel is urging any residents who are concerned about these proposals to write or email responses to the County Council.
The consultation document is a big document available at Warwickshire Libraries, or can be read and responded to on line. (The Stockton site is described as "Site 6 - Griffins Farm/Spiers Farm, Southam Quarry")
