The ruling Conservatives on Warwick District Council have voted down a Lib Dem "belt tightening" budget amendment which would have reduced this year's council tax increase from 3.8% to 2.8%.
They refused to accept Lib Dem proposals to cut the mileage allowances for councillors and officers, even though the County Council has just voted to do this. Those Tory members on both councils have therefore voted in completely opposite ways on the same issue within the space of a few weeks!
