The Campaign for Rural England (CPRE) would like to invite you to Your View on Local Food, a workshop exploring local food in and around Kenilworth.
Monday 23 February, 2009
6.30 - 9.00pm
The Senior Citizens Club
Southbank Road, Kenilworth CV8 1JP
Delicious hot soup and locally baked bread will be available from 6.30pm, with the workshop starting at 7.00pm.
Through the workshop they aim to:
• Collect your opinions about local food in and around Kenilworth
• Understand issues around local food that are particularly important in the area
• Begin to explore possibilities for action
Local knowledge is crucial to this process so they would like to hear from as many local people as possible, including Kenilworth residents, shopkeepers, farmers and decision-makers.
The event is part of the Mapping Local Food Webs project that is currently taking place in Kenilworth and the surrounding area. Mapping Local Food Webs is a unique project aiming to engage the skills and knowledge of local people to explore the economic, social and environmental benefits of local food networks, from producer through to consumer.
CPRE aim to achieve a better understanding of local food networks, to build links within the community between consumers, shopkeepers, farmers and policy makers, and to create opportunities to influence local, regional and national policy and planning decisions.
For more information you can also visit: Mapping Local Food Webs: www.makinglocalfoodwork.co.uk
CPRE very much hope that you will be able to come to the meeting and join the exciting discussions that could help to shape the future of local food in Kenilworth. Please contact them directly to register your place at the workshop or if you'd like to know more about the project.
