Angie and friend
Angie Adkins was a nurse for 16 years before marrying husband Neil and taking up farming near the Welsh Road, Southam. They mostly rear sheep, and Angie has a particular interest in encouraging the retention of old English breeds.
Angie is passionate about the environment, and last year helped to start a recycling scheme for local businesses (mostly canal basins and pubs), which has been successful in increasing tourism-related rubbish that would otherwise go to landfill.
In her spare time Angie is a popular jazz and blues singer in the local area, often accompanied on saxophone by Nigel Rock, the Liberal Democrats prospective parliamentary candidate - see story on this web site on 16th February 2008.
Now Angie has taken on a new challenge, standing as the Liberal Democrats candidate for Southam in the District Council elections on Thursday 1st May. Judging by the picture the lamb feels safe in her hands, and voters can do as well!
