Cllr John Whitehouse in Burton Green

Good news for Burton Green residents, especially for parents and children on their way to and from school. The new pedestrian refuge at the top of Red Lane will definitely be built this Spring.

The overall Village Speed Review is going ahead again following the public consultation last year. County officers are working on new proposals, and Cllr. John Whitehouse is liaising with the Residents Association and school governors to ensure local oversight and comment on new plans before they are put forward for public consultation again.

John says: "I hope we can find a way through this, so that the speed limit can be reduced to 30 m.p.h. throughout the great majority of the village without causing unnecessary obstruction of traffic. The goal is a safer, cleaner and quieter village - a prize well worth fighting for."
