Abbey Team for District - Kate Dickson, Ann Blacklock and Pat Ryan
Kenilworth Liberal Democrats have announced what they describe as their strongest-ever field of candidates for the District and Town Council elections in May.
County councillor John Whitehouse (Kenilworth Abbey), who is co-ordinating the town-wide campaign, says:
"I am delighted that we are fielding such a strong team of candidates across the three Kenilworth wards.
The recent defection of a councillor to the Conservatives has not weakened but strengthened us. Membership recruitment is booming, and lots of people are coming forward to help who have not perhaps been so active for a while.
Park Hill Team for District - Kevin Holt, Alison Tyler and Doug Golby
The team is a good balance of existing councillors and new faces, blending experience with new ideas and a fresh approach."
Liberal Democrats are proud of the achievements of the District Council in the four years since forming a joint administration to run the council, and will be campaigning on their record in office.
For the town council elections, Liberal Democrats will be campaigning for better value-for-money and a greater proportion of spending on things that actually benefit the town.
Town council group leader Pat Ryan (Kenilworth Abbey) says:
"We have a town council of seventeen, while Leamington manages very well with twelve. A slimmed-down council would spend less on administering itself and more on projects for the town."
