Cllrs Ann Blacklock & Pat Ryan survey our current green belt
Government proposals for up to ½ a million new homes in the West Midlands by 2026 represent a potentially major threat to the green belt separating Kenilworth from Coventry.
Cllr. Pat Ryan (Liberal Democrat, Kenilworth Abbey) commented:
"The proposals make clear that all the new homes proposed for Coventry could not be contained fully within its existing metropolitan area, and would inevitably encroach into the green belt. The Council for the Protection of Rural England calculate that 330 acres of green belt land is at risk in Warwick District alone."
Your Liberal Democrat councillors on the county and district councils will fight to protect the precious strip of green belt separating us from Coventry.
