One of the offending posters
The Labour party has been forced to remove posters which appeared on Kenilworth lamp-posts over last weekend, in contravention of a local Warwick District Council bye-law which prohibits their display.
Following complaints from members of the public, Richard Allanach's election agent Ann Blacklock referred the matter to the District Council's Returning Officer on Monday, as did the Conservatives. The posters had been removed by this morning.
John Whitehouse, chairman of Kenilworth Liberal Democrats and county candidate for Kenilworth Abbey Division said:
"We play by the rules, and expect other parties to do the same."
