Cllr. Haydn Thomas will retire from the County Council at the end of his current four-year term in May 2005.

Kenilworth Liberal Democrats have selected John Whitehouse to defend the Kenilworth Abbey county seat.

Haydn is giving enthusiastic backing to John's campaign, which will build on Haydn's record of achievements for the people of Kenilworth over 40 years.

"The Kenilworth Connection is a good example", he says. "I fought hard for its introduction in 1998, against strong Tory opposition at the time. Yet look what a success it has been! Now we have the latest plans to combine it into a new 'One-Stop Shop' with the Library, the first in Warwickshire, which we support strongly."

John has been prominent as a local campaigner in pushing to get things moving forward for Kenilworth town centre. If elected in May this will remain his top priority.
