New Community Bus Service For Kenilworth

Liberal Democrat councillor Ann Blacklock (Kenilworth Abbey), together with local campaigners who have been protesting at the axing of the Stagecoach X18 bus service, has warmly welcomed a decision by Warwickshire County Council to provide an initial 12 months funding for a new non-profit making community bus service for residents living in the castle area of Kenilworth.

The new service, to be called "Castle to Clock", will run mornings and afternoons on a route around Fieldgate Lane, Beehive Hill, Clinton Lane and High Street, plus Malthouse Lane on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Ann Blacklock said:

"This is very good news for Abbey residents. Hopefully the service will prove popular - people may find it better than what was there before."

The timetable for the new service will be announced next week.
