The campaign to bring a skate park to Kenilworth will reach a successful conclusion next month, with the official opening of the Castle Farm skate park on Saturday 4th September at 12.00 noon.

The unstinting efforts of the Kenilworth Skateboarders Action Group, formed in July 2003, deserve the highest praise.

Lib Dem councillor Ann Blacklock (Kenilworth Abbey ward), who met the group in its first two weeks of existence and agreed to support the campaign, is delighted with the successful conclusion. She pointed out that Warwick District Council had committed £15,000 towards the total costs of the project, and said:

"Some people say that Kenilworth doesn't get its fair share of funding for projects. This shows that when we have a good project, and when it is well-supported by residents and by local councillors, we can get results."
